Who is going? What are you bringing? Are you getting the model and staying for lunch too?

I will be there and hope to see you!

I'll be there! I'm dragging along my big sister (as in tall *and* 16 years older than me) for the event. :) She wanted to come to a model horse show to see what it's all about, and this one happens to be the closest to where she lives. I'll be getting 2 of the show, meal, and model packages... one for her, and one for me. Can't wait!

I am going - but don't plan to get the model or the lunch. I am mostly bringing the same models I'm bringing to NESE (my amateur CM's plus a few OF's) because last year the CM division was pretty small - and I am curious how my creations will do in open CM competition. I will do some OF & CM performance too.

Has anyone heard if they will be harness racing on showday? That would be so awesome! :cheer

Dannie, Nicole and I are planning to come. Nicole will compete in the Novice division. Dannie and I will probably be bringing many of the same horses and set-ups that we take to NESE. We are not purchasing the lunch or model this year. To be honest, the lunch was just okay last year and this year's model doesn't particularly excite me. I'd rather spend the money on a model that I am in love with. BUT...I love the show and the location is within an hours drive for me - YEAH!!!

Hi Debbie! :hello Nice to see you on blab. :)

Linda: I'm guessing that since the racing starts the following weekend, that their won't be any racing the weekend we are there. :( Hopefully they will at least be working out, though.

I had planned on going, but sadly will not be able to attend. The drive is a bit long for me to go up for one day and I would rather use my vacation time going to NESE, NEMHC and Fantastic Plastic.

It's also an expensive show and I'm not crazy about the model being offered.

I hope everyone has a great time!

:hello Hey Darlene - I absolutely loved the saddle set you shared with us on the blab a couple weeks ago. Your tack is awesome!! Dannie and I are busy planning our set-ups for NESE. Can't wait! See you there!

I'm planning on going. Although I'm not as hyped up about it as there are no collectability classes. I *may* think twice about going but I'll probably go anyway. It's still always nice to see everyone! But no racing? :( That was so nice to watch last year!

I'll probably just bring a handful of models. Probably less than I'll bring to NESE.

I have to write the Stone company and ask if I can just purchase the show and model, not the meal. I'm vegetarian and nothing else on the menu is all that appealing so I'm just planning on bringing my own lunch. And I'm only getting the model to sell in hopes of recouping at least the day's expenses. Last year one of the 2 GSL models went for over $200 on Ebay so I'm hoping to get lucky. :wink

Unfortunately, you can't just get show and model, you have to get the combo of the 3 if you want the model. If they allowed that, there would be a lot of people doing it. ;) Heck, I plan on bringing my own food, even though I'll already be paying for theirs.

That is one thing I wish they would do. Allow you to pay for just the show and the model. If that was possible it might have swayed me to go.

Does anyone have the website for the show?? I might be able to persuade the hubby to head over there depending on when/where/how expensive it is.

Hi Lauren:

You can access the information and entry form from www.stonehorses.com, then select Stone Henge Live on the left side. From there, select the Granite State show. It has all the entry information you need including the class list and a picture of the model being offered.

Thanks so much! It was really hard to send it off. At least it went to a good person. :grin I just started working on tack this week... busy busy! Can't wait for NESE either! Look forward to seeing everybody!

That is so dumb. I mean, basically because the food selection sucks. If they did a more rounded meal, it wouldn't be so bad. A meat, pasta, salad, bread, deset combo would go over much better.

You can get every combination except show and model - no meal.
Model, meal, show
Model and meal
Show only
Meal only (WTF? Who would go just for the food?!) :lol

Sheesh. Maybe I'll just do the show and forget about trying to make money on the model.

Sheesh. Maybe I'll just do the show and forget about trying to make money on the model.

That's what I'm going to do. The model doesn't appeal to me and I don't think it's unique enough to get top dollar for anyway. Plus the selling market is so depressed right now. The only way I'll get a model is if someone who can't attend wants it, and is willing to pay for the meal too. I did the meal last time and it's not worth $25.

So you & me will probably be eating our brought lunches by ourselves!

Here's a thought for those of us who, like me, have decided against getting this year's model...

The less models ordered, the less number produced, the more limited the edition, the more money it may be worth. Now doesn't that make you want to rethink purchasing one, lol.

Still, for me, it would be too expensive as I am bringing both of my daughters to the show and couldn't buy for one without buying for the other.

I know! If i'm gonna pay $25 for a meal, I expect a big selection and plenty to fill me up!

Well I'm hoping to go. If only to look around and get a "feel" of things. I've never been to a live show and i like to see what it is all about before I enter. Does that make sence? I may be able to talk my hubby into it too!(and he thinks I'm nuts now!!)

I would ask them-- if necessary say that you have a doctor's note because you can't eat the food...It doesn't hurt to ask, I say!

I second Kate, go to NESE!

And no it doesn't sound dumb at all. I did that a couple times before I actually entered a show. :)

I would like to go to NESE but that may mean driving myself and for some reasone,I hate driving in heavy traffic in a big town by myself. No Lie. i had to pick my parents up at logan airport in Boston. My hubby came with me and I'll tell you I was scared, when hubby and I went to Washington DC last year he drove but, when we drove through large city's like Hartford, Bridgport ect.. I was just about ready to jump out of the car.. That really worriesd me. I'm thinking about next time we drive anywhere long distance I may see a Dr about anti anxiety meds. So unless the hallis like right of an exit I may wait till he can take me once so atleast I know where I'm going.

I *think* it's nearly right off the mass Pike but I could be wrong. (I come from the other direction, through the city). If it's not right off the Pike, it's just one or two main Rt's that you are on for a fairly short time and these are kinda small town, not quite country, type routes. It's in a fairly small town as well so don't worry about any city driving. It's not intimidating by any stretch of the imagination! :lol The workers at the Dunkin Donuts right there at the lights were actually nice and knew what they were doing!

Check the site for directions, it should give the amount of miles you would be on each route. If not, Mapquest it for mileage. It would be something like 495S to the Pike to whatever exit is closest to Spencer. Exit 9, I think?

You'll be okay. I am a chicken driver when it comes to traffic (ask the friends I have driven to model horse shows with over the years) and I can easily handle it...Spencer is not Boston, believe you me!

I can't wait for Granite State Live <3 I'm with most of you though.. I hate having to purchase to meal. I'll be buying two of the model, one for myself and one to sell.. what can I say I'm a sucker for the Palouse! Hopefully they'll go for a good price on eBay. Can't wait for the raffles too, they were amazing last year.
I hope the turnout is great!

I'm going ... didn't purchase the meal ($25 for lunch???), and didn't purchase Palouse as Palouse was the GSL model last year and I was really hoping for a TB this year. But it's a great show in a splendid venue. Can't wait!

I've decided not to go. Between not having collectability classes and their crappy meal and what the company has done to Kris (Chrome Lotus) and a few others, I've decided not to put my money in their pockets. I just can't support that kind of behaviour.

I'll just wait until NEMHC and FPL to see everyone again. :)

Danelle- I too was hoping for a different model, though I love the Palouse, I wanted a cute little show pony, or a TB <3

NEMHC should be a blast, I'm so disappointed I don't get to go. I went the year before and it was wonderful.
