I will be going to Winston-Salem, NC tomorrow, to be with my husband Joe, who is being transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He had an appointment with a doctor there on March 23rd, but he ended up back in the hospital this weekend. Every doctor he's seen has told him he needs to have the surgery, but he wanted to get a second opinion. I have a feeling I know what he's going to say about the surgery. So, I have no idea how long I will be there, but George (my laptop! :lol )will be with me, and I will be checking in as much as I can, promise! :) If you can spare some good thoughts, please, we need them! I have no one to look after mom, so she's going with me. :grouphug Wish us luck! :crossfingers

If you get a chance, and need a break, some of us model horse people (in Chapel Hill/Durham) are going to be going out to dinner on Friday. PM me and maybe you can join us!

I appreciate it, but I will probably be at the hospital. And, I will have mom with me. I am getting a ride down, so I don't really have transportation. If something changes, I will definitely let you know. :)

Thanks ladies! :grouphug The good news is that his colon looks fine, so no surgery (for now). The bad news, is that they are not sure what is causing the pain and nausea that he has almost every day. :sigh But, this hospital is wonderful, and he is being taking care of. Mom is a real trooper. There have been a few small problems, but overall, she's been great. We're just hanging out with him today, hopefully, the doctor will come in with news.....hope it's good news! :crossfingers I'll let you know when I hear something. :)

Hey, if your hospital trip is successful, I may have to get you to tell me which one, so we can take my mother and maybe get REAL answers about her headaches!

I hope you can get some answers about what is going on with your husband! :hugg

Actually, yes! :grin He has a partial blockage in the small intestine, and that is what's been causing the pain/nausea. It is possibly scar tissue from his gastric bypass (in 2003). The good news is that his colon looked fine, and the doctor did not think the colon should be removed. The blockage could go away on it's own, if not, it can be removed by surgery. So, yes, finally, an answer! :yaymiller

Did they give you some ideas as to how to control things until the scar tissue goes away?

It's GREAT that you've got some answers for the longer term, I hope they gave you some answers to help with the shorter term. :)
