I've never had to deal with anything that was insured yet and I just had a buyer send a message that the base of a jumper (Show jumping wb) was all cracked and he has a rub on his shoulder. Do I take it through insurance? Or how do I do that?

Usually the recipient has to deal with the post office to make the claim, so if my understanding is correct, the buyer should speak with the post office. Sorry to hear that the horse and base were damaged though :(

In my years of selling I've had to deal with the post office for damage 4 or 5 times. Sometimes the buyer does and sometimes I did it. It is VERY easy to do online, just go to the website (USPS.com) and follow the instructions. The times I did it through the website I received the claim super fast, the time I went to the post office to handle it too FOREVER and the guy lost all my info and stuff, he only remembered because I hounded him.
