View Full Version : should I join NAMHSA to show at NAN?
I'm taking some time this week to get my entries in for NAN in August. I'm of course a little bit overwhelmed by all the info, especially since I'm not a big-time live shower. but it looks like it might be cheaper to enter as a NAMHSA member? I will only have about 12 horses to show on Saturday (CM's and AR halter) in maybe 15 classes.
any advice????? thanks in advance. :)

Absolutely. The cost difference is *dramatic.* Fifteen classes? At non-member rates, you'd be paying $165 (that's without any helper fee or extra table space if you want them), whereas at the member rate plus the membership fee, it would be...$90 I believe. There's really no reason not to - plus then you get to vote for your regional rep among other things :)

Btw, detailed: base fee for non-members is $90, plus $5/class. For members, it's $25 plus $3/class, and to join I think it's a $20 membership fee (or that base fee and membership fee might be the other way around). Sooo...you can see how it works out cheaper!

If you're thinking of showing at NAN for the next 3 years, the Individual Membership rate is 50/3 years, while 1 year is $20.00. The namhsa website has the details for becoming an IM.

Definitely join! Saves you a lot of $$.:)
cool, thank you for the tips, guys. I'll be sure to look this all over VERY carefully tomorrow, and get that all arranged. I'll probably just do one year. this will be my first year at NAN, and probably my last for MANY years to come, since we will be starting a family next year. no more NAN for me, but I figure I may as well enjoy it. *shrugs with a smile* I'm really looking forward to meeting people! :woohoo
anyway, thanks, everyone. :hugg
