Have been having some major family issues since mid-December (elderly parents, Mom very Alzheimers). I'll be looking in on Blab on a very irregular basis for at least a week - some days may not be able to be online. Should be back on a regular Blab schedule shortly. At some point I'll share something somewhere on Blab about this experience. I know there are others with personal experience as well.

Thanks for your patience! Stay warm! :rays :)

Well if you can toss a bucket of water on it ... considering this is Blab, a few scorch marks kind of go with the territory. :lol

We'll be thinking of you, elderly parents are a tough thing. We'll try to behave. :)

Hang in there, Mary. I am sorry to hear of your family issues. My mother is in late-stage Alzheimer's, and while she is in excellent physical health, she has no concept of time/reality, nor does she recognize any family members. It is a very hard thing to deal with, and I hope your father is able to help her out, so she can continue to live at home. We have my mother in an excellent facility, but it is very expensive, and we worry that she will outlive her money. :(

Sending hugs, and prayers to you. :hugg

As the caregiver for my two elderly parents, you have my utmost empathy. Anytime you need to vent, I'm here.

My grandfather on my mother's side had dementia and my grandfather on my father's side has Alzheimer's is we are reaching the point where he can no longer live alone although trying to convince him of that is going to be impossible. Dementia and Alzheirmer's is very hard on everyone involved. Take your time and we will try and behave ourselves.

Anyone know where Mary keeps the fire extinguishers? When was the last time we changed the batteries in the smoke detector?

I'm so sorry Mary. :( My grandma has the beginning stages of it before passing away from breast cancer.

I think the batteries are next to the clinkies that have dust on them...

Thank you for all the well-wishes, they are most appreciated. :hey

So "unfocused" was more like "offline" for the last couple of days. Thanks for your continuing patience for a few more days! Will catch up with everything as I am able.

Things are disrupted just now, but by next week things should be more on schedule - hopefully. That's the plan! :)
