This is the actual 3" prototype generated from the CAD scan of Optime. The transparent resin they have to use makes it hard to see detail but he is a true reduction of the original!

I am going to go ahead and have 300 pieces made (IN WHITE resin). All 300 of them will be here and ready to ship by mid-August!!!

I will have ordering information on my website soon, probably later tonight.

:yeahthat

I hope you won't be charging too much for him. I have wanted an Optime for a while, and now I'm being tempted with a mini optime!

Heh, if anyone is interested, I'll trade a free paint job just to paint the lil' guy! Yes my paint jobs actually cost money now, so free is a good thing.

The order form web page for Mini Optime is up and running now!
The Optime page with photos, and then a link to the order form is at:

http://www.westerlydesign.com/optime.html

Of course those of you who took part in the 50-piece pre-sale at the $50 price, yours will be shipped out first, ahead of all other orders! If all goes well, mailing should be starting in mid-August.

Is there anyway of us knowing how many are left as time goes on? Just curious so they dont sell out without us knowing, as I'm sure they will go quick :D

Oh, he looks COOL in clear! :yourock I was kind of hoping he'd be an open edition that I could put off purchasing for a while (like, until I had MONEY again!), but I *might* still be able to work it...My fault, of course, for spending too much...

I think he looks nifty in the clear, too! Especially since I may never even get a chance to paint mine. But, as I understand, the ones we get will be white. Oh well... I think Karen is right, though...the detail will be more apparent on the white ones, after they are cast.

I love my china "Optime", so I must get a mini, just to have and hold.... :grin

He's such a great mold! :rocker

My china one is pictured below -- I adore him! :adore

I ordered one too. My first mini resin... actually, my first model of this size.

I think owning a clear one would be cool, too.

Errm when you sold the first lot for $50 you said he'll be an open edition at $75.

Now your saying only 300. Which is it?

Don't want to miss out on the mini too but don't have that kind of money (including shipping) until October.

Pysco - She had to order a bunch so we could order from her and that number was 300. When she runs out, she'll then have to place another order.

And count me in on the people who are interested in the clear ones. :lol

Excuse me, but as the seller, I have the last word and the right to change the specs if the circumstances change during the course of my production process! When I sold the first 50 at the lower price, I didn't have ANY other costs confirmed. I'm going with a new supplier. Nothing was set in stone.

So, now that I know more, the total mini Optimes made will be 300. PERIOD. I had to pay for all production costs of making 300 pieces up front, NOW. Which is unusual since our "hobby" casting services generally let you pay for the mold(s) and then per cast as they are made (over many months). SO I ALSO had to make a guess at what possible quantity would be about how many I could sell. Even if it was an "open edition" I would have eventually stopped selling them when sales petered out... so, I guestimated that I would sell about 300 = what a potential open edition would be for this mini.

I'm sorry that maybe you won't be able to find $75 for this resin until October and they might be gone by then. I learned long ago that I can't please everyone; if I tried I'd lose my mind AND my successful business!

I think in another thread (or maybe it was this one? It's late...) she mentioned she's really swamped at work right now, so it might take her a couple days to send our confirmation emails. She wants us to wait to pay until we get the confirmation so it doesn't mess up her record-keeping. Sorry, but I'm too tired to find where she posted that. Hope it helps.
