He could probably be used as storage for mini's... like a trojan horse. Not telling how many would fit inside of him.

So tempting, love the mane and tail in particular. Just not so into painting red chestnuts - can they be liver or have flaxen manes and tails?

Not to my knowledge :dunno But some do have slightly lighter manes and tails, like here for example: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7f/Suffolk_horses_ploughing.jpg

They can - but they are pretty rare, so you'd have problems with documentation. I think Jackie Radwanski (Whitestones) may have pix of a flaxen one - first one I've ever seen in decades of Suffolk-watching!

I did find a liver chestnut, unfortunately with the same color mane and tail. Putting it here in case someone wants it:

Should I email Kitty soon if I have not received him yet? I had asked if he could possibly be sent to Mindy Berg instead and she said she could see if they would ship him there instead but as far as I know Mindy has not received him yet and I have not either.

Mindy's work is always a treat to see, congrats! Dappling is a less-seen feature in the breed, I'd suggest using some reference pics.

Yes she does phenomenal work :) that is a good idea! I sent Mindy a photo of a heavily dappled Suffolk from a show to use as a reference, I will use that one :)

I would love to see the reference photos you used for this one?
The closest Suffolk I've found with this type of dappling and dark colouring is this one:

http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/06/02/db/6a/annie-with-thor-the-suffolk.jpg

It's a beautiful custom.

He's a PERFECT Suffolk ... why have him as anything else?
Suffolks officially come in only Seven shades of Chesnut (traditional always spelt without the 't' for Suffolks ;) ) but there is so many ways to paint a chestnut - everyone would be different depending on the artist ... plus a GOOD chestnut is so under rated ;)
And you can always add coloured ribbons and Inhand stallion tack to him to make him different from the rest ;)

Suffolk Punch is his first, best destiny... he's one of two SP resins I've got, the other is AA Edmund. I'm planning to keep them rather conservative and breed typical with little if any dappling, pangare or white markings. I'll try to get one of them more reddish with toasty shading in wrinkles, etc., and the other more bright-medium chesnut. Woodbridge's braiding will be detailed as if the traditional straw twist is included. They will be a challenge, as my tendency is to gravitate toward highly broken patterns... I'll do another chestnut, a Morgan, before them.
