Hmmm..... interesting classlists, too. We'll see if I can make this work. It's a super-busy time of year!

Why hello! I just moved to Des Moines and was wondering how to get into the hobby here. This looks like fun!

I'm entered. Now to send the check in and decide whether to get a hotel room for the night before and do the 'no snow' dance for show day :-)

It is supposed to snow all day Saturday here and Sunday in Ames.... trying to decide whether to keep my hotel room and drive down Saturday, or cancel the room, see what the weather does, and hopefully leave at 0-dark-thirty and drive in Sunday morning. It's a 3-hour drive for me. Does anyone know when they'll make a decision as to whether to hold the show if weather is an issue? 4" of snow is problematic if the wind starts blowing as I HAVE to be at work on Monday morning.

I'm hoping the weather holds out for everyone. They keep changing the forecast from snow showers that day to 1-3 inches. :uh I had to take a vacation day (always work sundays) so hope it works out. Maybe they will have it a little earlier next year?

I hope the weather holds, although I haven't had any time this week to work on my classlists or pack up any models, so if I go, it will be with whatever is still in totes from the last show! I'll have to make a decision by tomorrow evening, I think.

I won't be going :sad

We've already got several inches of snow up here in northern Iowa and the wind is starting to pick up a bit, and the clincher was my husband hitting a deer last night with his car on the way home. So we're down to one vehicle until Monday-- mine. I can't really justify taking the truck all weekend when he has things he needs to get to that are more important than a model show. Wasn't meant to be, I guess.

I hope the show still goes on and everyone has a good time! Please post photos! Travel safely, everyone.:snowflake

I'm glad you had fun! I hope they do it again, possibly at a different time of year.
