Blanket numbers?

I've been looking at some pictures of live shows in the past. I think the ID numbers on the horses are great. My question is how does one go about making them. Just cut out small squares of paper or is there some special way to do it.

I print out a page full of numbers, duplicated, laminate them and cut them into the right size and sticky them on.

And...here's food for thought..

I was going through the APHA & AQHA rule books trying to do some class cards when I ran across the rule that (paraphrased) said either you had the number on the rider or on BOTH sides of the saddle. It needed to be visible no matter what.

I just made one out of a 3x5 card with a black marker and stuck it on my rider doll. I should make a fancier one but oh well. :D
