Sorry I missed your post, Stacy. Yes, the show is about 20 miles southwest of Chicago. Further venue info on the website. Hope you can make it!

The website has just been updated with the first prizes, so I'm bumping. :D

I have to find out when the boat races are in Detroit next year - we might be going, as Nick wants to sit on the water with my uncle who's officiating...and Chicago is "on the way" enough...Your show looks REALLY spectacular, Ms. LaRose.

Nuts, Belmont weekend again. It sounds like a great show though---I'm going to have to see how the three year-olds shape up this year. :grin (If the TC is on the line, I'm a basket case on Belmont day...)

We're hoping to go. Denise and I talked about it after Meows and Minis. Decided we might skip some shows here to make up for the road trip. :) Crossing fingers everything goes well!

Heather thanks so much. Someday when my show grows up, I hope it will be like DK Live. :)

Mumtaz, it's always going to be Belmont weekend because there's otherwise no room in the midwest show schedule. So one of these days you are just going to have to give it up girlfriend, and come and watch the race with us. :D

BnB, I would be totally happy if you and Denise made it. More than half our entrants last year were travellers, and I think they found it worth the trip! We'll have to have dinner. :)

LOL! Be forewarned---watching races involves clapping, yelling, bouncing, and occassionally cursing (i.e. 2004 Belmont, 2004 BC Turf....) from me. :D

I felt that it was far too quiet when we watched it as a group last year. :)

Yay! I think I'm going to be able to make it!

My sister and I are roadtripping from Louisiana to Wisconsin (where our parents are living) and we are hoping to stop on the way. We lived in Hinsdale - right near the show - for 16 years before we went to college. I haven't been back in almost 8 years, so it should be interesting!

I haven't been to a show since November, and I feel like I'm having Live Show Withdrawl. :action-sm I miss Colorado for that - we had a pretty busy live show schedule. So . . . I can't wait! :cheer

As long as you don't do it close to the chinas...

So...who wants to win one of those Katie Younger Gehrt medallions for me? I wish I could go, I wish I could proxy...but if anyone wins one of those, I will buy it from you and probably happily pay pretty good money for it. Especially the chestnut and the buckskin.

:sigh Eliz, how do you manage to do the most amazing prizes ever? This is so fantastic.

We're excited to meet you, Lexie. :)

Daphne, it started with Joan commenting that if I ever did a show, she'd supply her lovely plaques for china. A very generous offer from a terrific lady. And because I am geek, it then snowballed into an all-medallion kind of thang... :D

And truth is, I can't WAIT to give these away to people! :bloom:

Anybody interested in proxy showing 20-30 mini resins and CMs. References would be wonderful. Let me know the fee. If I go to the Belmont that weekend I'll bring back some souveniers as well :) email aklegarth@sbschool.org I would really need to know tonight or tomorrow morning if you are interested so that I can pack up the models for shipment before going to school again. If you are going to other shows between now and then or some that are soon after Skyline, let me know because I will look into those as well.

LOL, as a fellow chinahead, I make sure to behave myself around the fragile clinky guys. :wink

I think I'm going to be able to make it this year. Got to revamp some horses, but I'm looking forward to this show. It looks like it will be awesome. :)

I certainly enjoy checking back to the website now and again to take a peek at all those gorgeous awards and paintjobs on my medallion! What a treat to see so many bring it alive, so beautifully!! Thank you for that injection of inspiration :D

I'm just waiting to hear back from Denise G if she wants to share a table or go full table each and then, I'm sending my entry. Talked to her last night and confirmed we're going, but forgot that one. Sigh.

Can't wait to see you two. :)

I will be uploading pix of the pieces that Denise painted this weekend. They're cool! Also have pix up of Paige Patty's super ceramic awards, and will be shortly uploading pix of the ceramic Fraley-designed plaques, courtesy of dear buddies Barb Ness and Tom Bainbridge. These latter ones were finished in gorgeous Skyline colors.

Enjoy... :bloom:

Update

If you haven't entered and have considered it, now is the time. The show is very nearly full. The show website (http://www.bronzino.net/skyline_live) has complete information, including a downloadable show packet. So if you want to enter, please do not delay. Thanks! :)

Maybe I should just start a new thread. I don't know. This show is less than two weeks away and I'm freaking out! I'm so, so intimidated. It's a love/hate thing-- I want to go and see the pretty horses, but man am I ashamed of what I have to bring. A lot of simple repaints to compete in those amazing CM classes? Why? What am I doing?

On a more hopeful note, are there to be "vendors" at this show? People selling from their table? I know special permission needs to be attained in order to do this, but I figure money is money and many a person is in need of my green stuff. I'm on the lookout for unpainted resins, so if I get some affirmation of there being some there I'm bringing out the bucks.

Who's going? Can you comfort me? Ack, ack, I'm SO looking forward to it and so dreading it at the same time;].

Oh Janis, do not be intimidated!! Go to have fun! I'm going to be there and that is exactly what I intend to do that weekend! I have seen the horses from that area when they venture into MI and the competition is going to be stiff. :) I can't wait! Yep, I'm convinced my horses are going to be thumped and I can't wait. I'm a glutton for punishment, I suppose! :wink

Remember--it's fun! Hope to see you. :)

Janis, don't be silly! Go just to drool! I am sure that I won't do well at all, but the cornucopia of classes has me very excited - I love to see what's out there and what people have in their collections! :)

I have almost all of the awards up on our website now, only missing Joanie's set and a medallion from Allie D.

Take a look - I think that an assembly of this much great stuff from so many different people is unlikely to occur again:
