Wow, what a great show day yesterday at Inviting Events in Lilburn, Ga. Polly Cleveland did a wonderful job of hosting & running Peach State Live. Unfortunately, Peter couldn't make the show; however, he did send along a very helpful replacement (I'm sorry if names escape me - I've got a cold medicine hangover). Some of the proceeds from the raffle went to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It was a good feeling to see all of the showers (including their husbands) wearing pink ribbons to support fellow hobbiest Lorri Savage. :adore Lorri showed up to give a hand with announcing. She did a great job & lasted the whole show!!
My friend, Jennifer drove to my place from North GA. This was her last show for a while - she is pregnant with her first child. I was so pleased to see her walk away with a gold ASB trophy! I think it was a good way to end things with a bang! As for me, I think that my show string was the thinnest ever. But I was fortunate enough to bring home a reserve champ rosette with my weanling, Baby Phat. And I am proud to say that those horses of mine that were 'wearing' Jennifer Buxton's tack placed first or second :clap
It was nice to catch up with fellow blabber Tracy Helling (Horse Chick). And I think that we both did a fine job of recruiting future blabbers!! It was so great catching up with everyone. And I think I've found other hobbiest to attend shows with! And thanks to Tracy & Shannon Fennel, for educating me on the SR Stones out there. Wow, I felt like my head was going to explode with all of that information! I am trying SO hard to resist collecting Stones now! I will continue only to collect the Stones that Ed Gonzales did, but that's IT! :wink
The show ran smoothly & we were out of there by 4:30! I got home & realized that I am coming down with something - ick :sigh So today, I'm filling up on Dayquil & throat lozenges in hopes that my Turkey Day won't be ruined :rolleyes
