They are NOT for sale right now, they will be soon enough tho.. as I finish them! (except for the chestnut - I wanted to throw him in for the fun of the line up :rolleyes but he's for the real stallion's owner).. Anyhow! I will announce info to my group and the sale arena at that time. But for now, just showing them off because I've been hiding them in my studio for so long it's killling me!!!! :~

The fleabitten grey is for me...Of course, after all the damage I have been doing lately, I wouldn't count on him being in my budget when he does come up-- but I can dream a little! :)

:wow and I really mean that! The greys are awesome!! I like fleabit greys but I have never seen one that I like in the model world (the splatter look does not do it for me) but that one is incredible! :bow Hmm please post when you auction him!

You know when I came to the bottom picture and saw the dapples I thought wow those dapples look just like my Lohengrin then I scrolled a little further and noticed Kathleen painted him......hehe could explain the similarities! :D

Beautiful all of them! :adore

If I could afford even one of these guys I would be happy! But I can't, and I would rather have them all anyways! :grin

:o Tx guys!

Yes, the Duke with the fleabites represents several hundred hours of sitting with 8 different colored pencils... :rolleyes and a lot of paint work smoothing it out... It's hard not to want to do one tho: for some reason suddenly I've been surrounded by over 8 different fleabitten horses this winter! (at the barns I've been working at)... of course I'm still not happy with tone of the legs and some of the face but thank goodness :sp he's nearly DONE! (whew) Not sure I'll ever embark on laying down all those hairs on *anything* (!) ever again...
:hammer

But :blahblah tx! :grouphug

Thank Graciela!
Hopefully I can get that Kirch Duke up on ebay soon! I'm moving at the end of the month... this means, however, that painting must stop in a few weeks to let the other guys dry..... and it always seems like there is SOME little details/spots you want to touch up and add to... I have to move them out tho... need more room around here! ;)

Gracias tho! :adore

Hey Morgen!
Well done! the Palomino is to die for! If my budget recovers enought by the time you put him up for sale I might just have to break my promise to my hubby to slow down on this sort of thing and get him. :drool :drool :drool

So, Morgen...Just out of curiousity, when is the next Duke coming up at auction and what chance is there that it will be one of those beautious greys?

Inquiring minds...

Oh ok... I can answer this to sooommmmeee degree. :~

I have to move in a few weeks. So I tried my darnest to get the fleabitten and the dappled one done in the past few weeks. But because I work in oils, I have had to stop and let them dry enough to move... and then once I'm settled in it'll be a month or so before they're done.. Where does that put me, May-ish?

BUT - D'Arry's should be done and going up before that. I spoke to her last week and she was putting the finishing touches on him.

I am DYING to see that bad boy. But he'll only come out of the box to get photographed.. and then go up online. These other artist's paint jobs scare me to have around! :o (need a nail bitting smiley! :lol) ;)

Can you give any hint as to the colour of D'Arry's one :pray I'm so in love with the one I've just had painted (:doc), I'm thinking I may need another but now I'm also thinking.... Do I wait till May or not... Hmmm

Thanks! :)
I am working hard on him right now.. shaping some shoes.. adding final coats of finish spray... I'm really hoping to have enough day light to finish him up today and take good pics... I would LOVE to have that guy off to a new home before I move in the next few weeks... :crossedf:

OOoo and here's a secret... ;) He got a cute little snip and stripe a few weeks back.

I really like him. It's so fun to finish them up when they start to get that 'character' thing to them. :D
