Hi guys,
As many of you know, a few of us here are working on a model horse history project to document and preserve said model horse history. :) I'm working on the website end of it, and I'd like to get some pix up for our gallery of vintage CMs, tack, live show photos, and old photo show photos (the older, the better). :D If you have pix you'd like to share, please email them to:
modelhorsehistory@yahoo.com
For models, please include the model's name, who CMized it from what and when (if known---even a guess to decade would help), the photographer (if known), and the current owner (if known). Same guidelines for tack, more or less. :wink
For photos from live shows, please include info about the show and when it was held, etc. For photo show photos, please include info about when the photo was taken, etc. :)
Any additional info about the photos or models you'd like to share would be lovely! :)
Thanks!
Kirsten

I have some old (back to '91) live show photos I'll get scanned into JPG's and e-mail you (no digital cameras back then!)
If you want a good laugh check out the photo show pics on my website http://home.earthlink.net/~horsienut/id6.html
I swear, these were REAL pictures I used to show with in the early 80's - feel free to "borrow" any of these for your wesbsite. The hobby was so undeveloped at the time ANYTHING would win! And these actually did:haha

Wow! Those photos are so creative! I love the paper hounds and fox. I have a poseable Silver like that somewhere. He was Brenda Breyer's favorite show jumper. :D

The fox hunting photo is really cool I think! Not showable TODAY, but in its day I bet it cleaned UP!

Thanks for the memories, Linda! :)
My best friend had the same flocked horse in the 1980's. I LOVED him and tried to get her to trade but she wouldn't part with him. I know you have Breyer tack on him but didn't he originally have a light brown rubber saddle and bridle?

I think he did have rubber tack, now that you mention it...
I also had the girl doll rider for him - I think her name was "Dusty"?
I wish I still had this horse and the poseable Silver & Smoke - they'd be funny for collector's classes :haha . Unfortunately they all suffered broken legs or other parts!

If you still had that palomino flockie... and we were both at a show together...
You'd probably never get me away from your table. <grins>
Go away! Get all your yucky drool off my table!!! :)
I still remember how much fun it was to push the horse's head up and down.

Those photos were great! I wish I still had one that I could show you - picture a Breyer Black Beauty (#89) in a beautiful jumper set up.... the horse was wearing a Barbie Prancer saddle and bridle (the bridle was a halter made of rose garlands, the saddle was a hot pink plastic sidesaddle) - the jump was made of Tinkertoys and approximately three inches away from the horse in full stretched out gallop....the photo was taken in my mom's living room with brown shag carpet as the flooring and the backdrop the front door...and for the capper, the "audience" was several Barbie dolls sitting enraptured on bleachers made of Legos. :D
And the sad thing is, that set-up used to WIN! :D
