Members get reputation points from other members. On the left side of a post, under the username and other info, is a very small length of colored blocks. Mousing over these blocks shows a comment that indicates total reputation points. The comments are automatically generated, and depend on the amount of reputation points and individual has gathered.

To provide reputation, access the small scales icon at the bottom of the left side of each post. Clicking this icon shoots up a prompt. Selecting "I Approve" adds to the user's reputation points. A green box with your comments becomes visible to the user. Users who are new can only leave “neutral” reputation. This neither detracts nor adds to a user's reputation score, so don't worry about it. When a new member leaves "neutral" reputation, it appears as a grey box to the user.

Reputation is awarded and awardable based on these criteria:

• You get a reputation of 10 points just for registering on Blab.
• Before you can give anything but neutral rep, you must have a minimum of 10 posts and 10 points.
• You can't give any more than 25 reputation awards within a 24-hour period.
• You have to give 10 other people reputation awards before you can give the same person rep again.

Automatic enhancements to your reputation power include:

• Everyone with the minimum 10 posts and 10 points, and no "boost" factors, gives 1 rep point for each award.
• Your reputation power is boosted automatically by one point for every 365 days of membership
• Your reputation power is boosted automatically for every 1,000 posts you make
• Your reputation power is boosted automatically by one point for every 100 points of reputation you gain
