Default Be Aware: Amy Jernigan and alternate names

FLAMING FLAMING RED RED LIGHTS FOR AMY JERNIGAN !!!!
Well I myself tried to give Amy Jernigan another chance .. after she messed me over so much on the last transaction that her daughter Brittany finally finished paying for instead of Amy, I again (sucker that I am) tried to give Amy another chance, after she begged me to give her another chance to purchase a resin from me, I finally said ok ...WELL it turned out to be the same old, same old story, of I mailed the MO out really I did ..... and yet it never has shown up to this day ...
SO here is my LAST ... FLAMING FLAMING HUGE RED LIGHT FOR AMY JERNIGAN !!!
Please take heed of this my hobby friend's, and my very sincere advise from first hand experience for what its worth, to ANYONE AND EVERYONE is, save yourself the trouble and time DO NOT deal with her, she is a complete waist of time !!

Yup, same sad story over and over, I'm afraid. She contacted me again about a resin as well (first time around, never came through, lost the sale to another interested party because of it), and she was very reasonable and apologetic. I *almost* gave her another chance, but I remembered how she told me the MO had been sent last time...and that was clearly a lie. So no go this time around, I didn't even respond to her. Not worth my time.

Here are links to the previous threads in TTB about "Jernigan" ... in order of last post in each thread ... the last post regarding Amy Jernigan prior to this thread was last month ...

These 13 threads go back to 2008 ... and some of them deal with more than one transaction.
And this is just Blab. I wonder if MHHR has some reports that weren't also posted in TTB.
So anyone else up for more "2nd" chances? (Maybe Chance # 75 3/4's? )

This thread is now "stuck," meaning it will stay visible near the top of the forum.

I think that's the most effort I've ever heard of someone putting into not buying model horses.

Seriously! I just keep wondering what on earth these people get out of it--the fun of annoying people via the Internet? I can at least see the objective if someone is trying to, say, sell something they don't have and scam people out of their money because then the scammer gets the money (and hopefully a lawsuit, or at least some kind of karmic retribution...), but what is the POINT of stuff like this??

Since this is TTB, please no speculation on motives, causes, etc. This is for descriptions of transactions, advice and requests for advice, etc.

You can discuss this TYPE of behavior in general somewhere else like GOT, without being specific as to individual. That would be ok.

Please, do ignore and delete all posts and do not let this behavior continue. It is not speculation but fact (from her daughter who did post publicly on here regarding her mother) that her mom has some issues, and is often not acting logically.

I would like to point out that while she owed me money for two paint jobs, and refused to pay, she still had enough funds to go to Breyerfest. Apparently, they also attended Breyerfest again this year.

It is my honest suggestion that all "second chances" are reserved for Breyerfest, since they have managed to attend the last two years. If the Jernigans would like to shop for models, they can certainly save their pennies for Breyerfest, and do all the shopping they wish at room sales or at the Artisan's Gallery, where they can pay with cash in hand. This would be an ideal solution for all parties.

In the meantime, due to my own negative experiences, I highly recommend that you do not put items "on hold" no matter how persuasive the email. I will never respond to any further emails from them, or anyone associated with them. I am not amused with the incredible waste of time and resources.

Because of my own negative experiences, I am no longer offering mini custom paint commissions. It was not worth the stress of spending one full year and countless emails back and forth, trying to collect only $125 per paint job. This behavior can only continue as long as we tolerate it. Personally, I am done and will never respond to any email from any known email addresses, or suspected aliases from their alternate addresses. For me, it will be instant "delete and block" from now on.

she put in a offer of a $1000. on my Bacchus when I had him up for offers. At first I put it on my ad not thinking who she was but never got the chance to responded. Then I did ref check and that offer went out the door. As much as I was over joyed for that offer, I deleted the email and sold him to a blabber how is trust worthy

This is how she gets people to keep offering second chances, I think... she offers substantially more than the current offers you're getting, so the money is tempting. She did that to me when I fell for it a few years(!) back - offered $200 more than the current high offer.

That is quite interesting, actually. I got an email from one of them asking me for commissions - three molds that I would die to paint, (two of which I've painted multiples of so if she looked at my webpage she knew I liked them) and offered about 50% more for each commission than the prices I had listed on my website. Made me very sad to ignore the email but, I did. At the time I didn't think anything of it - as in she just threw out some numbers that happened to be more than what I charged, and picked models that just happened to be ones I liked, but now I do think there's an actual pattern.

Oh, so it was her! She also contacted me about a blank Bacchus and kept adding copies to her order, but when it was time to pay the deposit - nothing. I even mentioned her that I was aware of her reputation and would only give her this one chance. If she would mess it up I would refuse to have any dealings with her in the future. And that is what I'll do from now on.

I see now that this was exactly what she did with me too. Though, with each copy she wanted to add to her order it became more likely to me that I would not see any money from her.

I hate that it required a change of policies on your part, Sommer. But it is entirely understandable.

I think the only safe transaction is one with cold physical cash handed over before the item is delivered, immediately and without holding the item. Paying before delivery by Paypal and even checks are not completely safe, both can be manipulated. No idea if that is something that has come up, but generally speaking ...

Yep, I got a message about one of my sales pieces, reading her email it was clear she/they definitely wanted the horse however I was aware of her feedback so I wasn't holding my breath. I replied & never heard from her again. Must have a lot of spare time to be able to contact every second person on MH$P.
