OK Now for your consideration I offer a Conestoga wagon or a "Prairie Schooner" because they resembled the sailing ships of that era "sailing" across the prairie. Mine is towed by 4 custom Shire mares and it will take all their strength to move that load. 100_1505.jpg100_1502.jpg100_1508.jpg100_1506.jpg

Today I bring you a fun to go for a ride wagon hitched to a pair of Clydesdale Northumberland Flowergirls. This the kind of wagon you could use to give rides for hire at the fair or whatever. You'll notice I even added a set of mud flaps so you won't get dirty100_1512.jpg100_1515.jpg100_1513.jpg Hang on winter is on the way out and spring will follow sooner or later.

OK For today I'm going to get the circus out of winter storage and prepare for the summer tour. Here is a pair of Percheron stallions pulling a circus wagon with a real African lion in it. This used to be a really big deal but has passed into history along with our horses and wagons. People are not willing to watch the parades any more unless they are on television.100_1517 (1).jpg100_1521 (1).jpg100_1520 (1).jpg100_1519 (1).jpg100_1518 (1).jpg

100_1528.jpg100_1526.jpg100_1529.jpg100_1527.jpg100_1527.jpg This guy was in pretty poor shape when I got him so I did some clean up and repaint and He turned out OK. When I got him he looked like Dennis the Menace dragged him up and down the sidewalk behind his tricycle. After the cosmetic upgrade he looked so good I built him a brand new gig for the Easter Parade. Note the hidden trunk under the seat, think I should install a lock on that?

Just checked in to see the finished Prairie Schooner and the attachment does not work for me - enjoyed the pictures up to here. Plus the circus wagon looked like it was out of the film Toby Tyler, just shown again a couple of weeks ago - nice!

Do you remember that famous song by Loretta Lynn, "A Coal Miners Donkey?" Well here here he is in all hi glory. His name is Kaleidoscope and he was sent to me by a lady from Maine who evidently wants to mine some coal. I built his harness and fabricated his cart and he is ready for work.100_1544.jpg100_1541.jpg100_1542.jpg
