Ebay is automatically charging and collecting the sales tax on items that are sold. It applies to most everyone now. Ebay is the one who will take care of reporting and paying that sales tax to your state when you sell a taxable item.

I have had a few complainers when I sold items that were over a hundred dollars. I guess sometimes the bidders get carried away when bidding the price up on an item, and then they are surprised when they have to pay the sales tax at checkout. The sellers don't receive any of that tax money, but I have had a few buyers complain to me about it. It is not in the seller's control, and buyers need to be aware that something they bid on could cost them an additional 7%, 9%, etc.
