Yes. Every money order has a number. When it’s purchased the post office enters the date & amount & the number of the mo into their computer. Thieves generally don’t forge or counterfeit postal mo’s simply because it’s a federal crime that’s easy to catch & trace & that will have harsh consequences including fines & 3-5 yrs in federal prison. It’s much easier & less risky to get stolen credit card numbers off the internet & it’s even easier & less risky to use stolen or fraudulent gift cards.
